SOLIDARITY STATEMENT TO THE WORKING PEOPLE OF KENYA, THE CPMK AND AFRICA AT LARGE, CONDEMNING THE BRUTAL AND ILLEGAL ARREST AND DETENTION OF COMRADE BOOKER NGESA OMOLE

The Communist League of Uganda stands in unwavering solidarity with our Comrades in the Communist Party Marxist Kenya (CPMK) and the Working People of Kenya and condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric kidnapping, torture, and illegal detention of Comrade Booker Ngesa Omole, the steadfast leader and General Secretary of the CPMK. This outrageous act of state-sponsored violence is not merely an attack on one individual but a direct assault on the revolutionary struggle of the Kenyan working class against imperialism, exploitation, and oppression.

On February 24, 2026, Comrade Omole was violently abducted by agents of the Kenyan state in an un lawful arrest. He was savagely beaten, resulting in the loss of a tooth, severe injuries including a cut finger inflicted with a pen knife, and other forms of brutal torture. He is now being held illegally at Mlolongo Police Station, denied access to lawyers, family, or basic human rights. This is kidnapping and a cowardly tactic employed by a regime in crisis, desperate to silence voices of resistance.

Under the failed leadership of President William Ruto, Kenya has descended into a police state rife with extrajudicial arrests, abductions, and assassinations targeting activists, communists, and anyone daring to challenge the status quo. Ruto’s government, propped up by imperialist forces, has repeatedly demonstrated its contempt for the masses through policies that prioritize foreign capital over the needs of the people. From the violent suppression of protests to the ongoing harassment of progressive organizations, this regime has exposed itself as a tool of neo- colonial domination.

The imperialists led by the United States bear direct responsibility for this repression. Kenya, under Ruto, serves as a strategic outpost for U.S. military operations in Africa, hosting bases and facilitating interventions that perpetuate dependency and underdevelopment. The CPMK, under Comrade Omole’s leadership, has fearlessly exposed these ties, rallying the masses against IMF-dictated “reforms” that impoverish workers while enriching multinational corporations. This arrest is a desperate attempt by the comprador bourgeoisie and their imperialist masters to crush the growing communist movement in Kenya, which threatens their hegemonic control over the continent’s resources and labor.

We in the Communist League of Uganda know all too well the tactics of imperialist backed repression, as our own struggles against neocolonial puppets in East Africa mirror those of our Kenyan comrades. The blood of Comrade Omole is the blood of all African revolutionaries fighting for socialism and self-determination.

We demand:

  • The immediate and unconditional release of Comrade Booker Ngesa Omole.
  • An end to all forms of torture, illegal detentions, and extrajudicial violence by the Kenyan state.
  • Accountability for the perpetrators of this crime, including the police officers and officials involved.

Let this act of brutality ignite the flames of internationalist solidarity! Workers and oppressed peoples of Uganda, Kenya, and beyond unite! We call upon all progressive forces and revolutionary organizations to join us in protesting this injustice and amplifying the call for Comrade Booker Omole’s freedom.

Long Live Socialism! Down with Imperialism and the Ruto Regime!

In revolutionary solidarity,

WINYI BENEDICT KAMYA

SECRETARY GENERAL,

THE COMMUNIST LEAGUE OF UGANDA
