Speech by the Chairman of the CLU on the WAP Conference in Nairobi (9th May 2026)

Revolutionary greetings to you comrades, distinguished guests and delegates!
My name is Sozzi Joseph from the Communist League of Uganda.
As we gather here today to discuss Imperialism and fascism in Africa, we gather in international and pan-Africanist solidarity due to their severe consequences and the out comes that affect the proletariat and peasants class mainly.
Comrade Lenin in his famous book “Imperialism the highest Stage of Capitalism” provides a concrete analysis of Imperialism and gives it’s major features, namely monopolistic capitalism, parasitic capitalism and moribund capitalism.
Why Imperialism? Where Imperialism lives and survives, the perpetrators benefits at the expense of workers and peasants, monopolistic capitalism sparks off, quests for strategic resources and markets, create cartels and put restrictions on trade and production.
Parasitic and moribund capitalismas in its final stages iginites and facilities wars both global and proxy wars. Historical facts show that due to intensified imperialism. The world faced a great catastrophe, the World War I in 1914, and this was followed by the great economic depression in the late 1920s and definitely resulted in the second world war. All these are clear manifestations of Imperialism and its contradictions.
The same imperialist tendencies as its approaching it’s final days are inducing the third world war, due to intensified geopolitical and economic tensions and the hegemony of world imperialist powers US and France with their allies.
It’s important to recall our history of struggle and resistance to such forces of oppression and exploitation. In 1884, it was the Berlin conference and the native continent of Africa faced the preparations of colonialism.
The mass struggle and resistance by our founding forefathers such as Dr Nkwame Nkrumah, Dedan Kimathi, Dr Apollo Milton Obote made us free from direct rule and political domination. But the economic independence was never achieved, through neocolonialism capitalism and imperialism our strategic sectors are still in hands of oppressers.
Through conditional aide and imperialist donations the majority of the maasses of the host countries are still living in miserable conditions and absolute poverty.
The dictated policies and programmes by World Bank and International Monetary Fund have done more harm than good on the African continent instead of amplifying development, they have built shameless corruption and continued exploitation.
They have financed and sustained autocratic and total authoritarian regimes that have worked as channels of oppression, exploitation and repression to the masses.
I therefore use this platform to call upon all comrades and well-wishers, progressive organisations and activists to reject Imperialism and fascism in all its forms, we reject those who perpetuate it and those who condone it.
Let us organise, moblize, educate and resist! We shall not give asylum to our long time oppressors and executioners!
-Down with global Imperialism down!
-Down with French Imperialism down!
-Down with American Imperialism down!
– Viva anti-imperialism and anti-fascism in Africa!
